Opportunity
Inspiring Success
While training is both important and effective, it is only when students are provided an opportunity to use their training that they realize their hopes and dreams can be reality. The opportunities provided by the Foundation teach students the value of community service and gainful employment, as well as educational and technical excellence.
The first opportunity The Good Samaritan Foundation offers STOP students is community service in their own neighborhoods. Students are employed to participate in neighborhood clean-up tasks and other service projects that teach them the value of working in and caring for their own community.
Upon successful completion of community service opportunities, students are transitioned into real work experiences and career-oriented workplace environments that prepare them for life after high school. The Foundation partners with local businesses to provide the training and experience necessary to expand their opportunities for future employment and entrepreneurship.
Throughout the school year students are exposed to their career interests through job-shadowing opportunities.
